So – Makers Market in the Community Room at the gorgeous Abbotsford Convent from 10 – 4pm. Have you noticed that they’ve painted and fixed up the rooms? It’s given the old building a little dignity again.

However the others are unchanged. So we will still be there in our usual corner of the Community Room on the third Sunday of every month for the Maker’s Market. And of course we’ll be at the Sisters Markets every two months!

If you’re looking for an outing, head on over to the Convent if you can – beautiful things, delicious food and a great location. Pete will be manning the fort so be sure to say hi! There’s the river, the children’s farm, the grounds and buildings to explore.

10 – 4 pm at the Abbotsford Convent in the Community rooms at the back of the Main building. Look for the signs.

The Maker’s Market @ the Abbotsford Convent (find the big-tree courtyard to the right of the bakery) on Sunday 10 – 4pm.

There is also the Shirts and Skirts market on the Convent Grounds on the Sunday so it’s a double whammy. Christmas shopping solved! I’ll be there with goodies galore and definitely doing some shopping myself as I just hate those department stores. The crowds drive me Nuts and all the same-old same-old… Give me a good coffee and let me wander around looking at cool original stuff any day.

Oh, and you can pick up things from me next week if you have an emergency. Just check out the shop for what’s on offer and email to arrange a time.

Alive with colour and variety, Kingston’s Night Art Market on Saturday 4 December will exhibit hand-made art works by Melbourne’s finest emerging and professional artists and craftspeople, with an emphasis on supporting and showcasing diversity and excellence in reused and recycled jewellery, fashion and accessories, to photography, printing, painting, ceramics and glasswork.

Come along and wander the stalls at sunset with a glass of wine and be entertained by Mentone-based indie folk band, The Weathermen, and Carrum-based songstress, Leona Prue.

There will be a heap of stalls, live music on and off during the day and as always we will be under cover so the weather can do what it likes! On the grounds are great places to eat, gardens to explore, galleries and fabulous old buildings. And within cooee or a strong moo is the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

Come and visit us if you can and maybe get some of your Christmas shopping done.

Find us at the back of the big-tree courtyard to the right of the bakery (from the main entrance).

I love living somewhere that has all the seasons but winter’s gone and I’m really ready for some sun now. And on Sunday it will be daylight savings to prove that we’re swinging around into a sunnier spot in the universe. As always, the Collingwood Children’s Farm is just next door, there’s great bike riding along the Yarra, and we’ll have food aplenty with the bakery, Japanese, lovely Lentils and the hidden Handsome Steve.

We’ll be in our big rooms at the river end of the main courtyard (to the right of the bakery). And of course I’ll be painting! Market runs from 10 – 4pm on Sunday, at 1 St. Helliers St, Abbotsford.

Step out with your friends, shake off the winter blues and have a lovely weekend.

We have our usual spot to the back of the courtyard and, in the spirit of new beginnings, I just may start a new painting.

Come along and say hello. And don’t forget the lovely places to grab a meal there, especially the little Japanese place between Lentils and the Bakery. Great coffee, beautiful food… what more can I ask?
