Mondoodle

There are no words for my relief and joy tonight! I have finished my book. For the last 6 weeks I have worked till 2am (on average ) to get it done and used every moment I reasonably could. I feel like I did 4 months work in one. It’s been crazy. And in the [...]

City book progress

Here’s a new bit of the book I’m working on Pterodactyls! I was working late last night with music playing and the pen flying. So much fun!

Sneak peek

Here’s what I’ve been working on for the last few months. This is just a little bit of work in progress of my new book which I’m doing in my Moleskines style. It’s intense work and they are pretty big pictures. The book is set in a city full if surreal and cool stuff.

2013 Calendar!!

Hooray here it is! I’m sooo happy with this – the paper is thick and creamy-white and the printing quality is beautiful. The calendar comprises of twelve images, a mixture of paintings and drawings, and enough space to write (if you want to actually use it as a calendar). I just love having changing artwork [...]

Foxy lady

Here’s a new image of mine that’s hopefully popping up on posters all around Melbourne. We’re advertising the Sisters’ Markets which will be very fabulous and also plentiful in the lead up to Christmas. And there are night markets so I’ll be busting out the battery tealights again. Gotta love em – festive without fire [...]

Froodle! and two markets

So… here’s a Friday doodle. I needed to treat myself to an aimless bit of drawing time, just for a wee while this morning over a coffee. You know. For my health and such. I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. So what else is happening? Two markets are happening this very weekend, that’s [...]

New Print!

We have a new addition to the print family! The Flying Bear rises slowly through the air until the clouds pile and tower around him – a floating city. On the breeze are whispers from the land below so that if he closes his eyes he can feel the world around him in all its [...]

Mondoodle 25-07-2012

Sketched on the couch on Monday night after the kids fell asleep at 8.30pm on 23rd July 2012. I take to a different little sketchbook from time to time when I want to sketch in a different style or really experiment. I love my Moleskines but because I show them to people sometimes for business [...]

Mondoodle 02-07-2012

What else could I draw on such a cold day? It’s been so long since I awarded myself some time aimless drawing time in a cafe and I have to say it is good for the soul. This one is done with my lovely brush pen (the one that holds the ink inside it). It [...]

What’s up?

Well a number of things… I’m hard at work finishing off my preparation for a couple of workshops at the ALEA conference in Hobart this weekend. I’ll be talking about the idea of picture books that are designed to have multiple meanings – that is, the text and illustrations leave spaces for the reader to [...]
