Thank you!
PJ, I'm not sure if you will get these covers over there. The Irish edition is already done and not by me, I'm afraid. How funny that you have the same relationship with page-space. I am so inordinately proud of myself whenever I manage to do a sparse and light-filled picture. Or one that floats. Still, people enjoy sumptuous detail and that's certainly one of the things I love about your work. I can recommend the trick with the page flaps, though. It works for leaving surrounding space, but won't stop you filling what's visible...
Best, e

[...] The Poison Throne Australian Cover! Commenta 27th April , 2009 I could go on for hours about Elise Hurst and how amazing her art is and how much I love the fact that she’s my illustrator for the Australian edition of The Moorehawke Trilogy, but even I didn’t expect anything as incredible as the covers she’s produced! Elise has designed all three Moorehawke covers at once so that when they are laid side by side they add up to one big picture! For a detailed and fascinating explanation of the process involved check out her blog here http://www.elisehurst.com/journal/?p=399 [...]

A beautiful drawing, and a very interesting piece on your process.

You said "One of my faults is that I can’t help but fill all available space",
I'm the same. It's a habit I've been trying to shake for 25 years.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished covers in the bookshop.
Best wishes
