There are trees growing behind my eyelids. I know because every time I close them it’s all I can see. Trees and trees and trees. All drawn in tight pen strokes – contoured, shaded, twisting and slightly incomplete. So maybe I couldn’t actually draw trees forever.
I was thinking I’d take a little break from this picture to do some other work in the lounge tonight. Setting up on the coffee table to draw for a few hours is almost as good as a holiday. But guess what I’ll be drawing. Trees! For a different book. And guess what I was unthinkingly planning on watching (listening to) while I work? A Lord of the Rings film – probably the one with the Ents, hmm talking trees. At least I’ll be out of the studio for a bit. There’s a big oil painting lurking behind me, leaning against the wall and waiting to be finished. A girl sitting up a tree…
Oh dear. No escape for me.
Here’s a bit of today’s twistage.

It’s still fun

Oh that’s delicious! Maaaaan, I just love your work.
I hope I get to by a print when you get around to working on my baby?
(I’ve moved to my sitting room too! The proofs are driving me bonkers and sitting in the office was just about to kill me altogether – the change of scene works wonders for the soul doesn’t it?)
