The Emerging Writers’ Festival has its program up so I can tell you that I’ll be taking part in…
The Living Library – I’m a Book. Yes, an actual book. Only the idea is to ask questions and the book will answer helpfully. Please be gentle posting me through the return chute.
Saturday 23rd May in the Experimedia room of the State Library of Victoria. Each ‘borrowing’ of a Book will last for approximately fifteen minutes in which time the writer has the opportunity to ask up to three questions related to concerns they have in their writing practice.
Art vs Craft?
Sunday 31st May 12.30 to 1.30pm in the Melbourne Town Hall. One of our special Two Sides of the Coin debates where writers debate with themselves. Is it all about lyrical musings regardless of plot and structure, or can you put any old a pap down if the plot rocks? Obviously you need both…obviously. Obviously?
With Nathan Curnow, Elise Hurst, Kathryn Heyman and Krissy Kneen. Hosted by Susan Hayes
The Page Parlour gathers the undiscovered, the underground and the independent, the obscure and the strange, and sets them in the front row. Get your posters, poetry, (maga)zines, books and journals here.
Sunday 31th May at The Atrium, Federation Square, 12 noon-5pm. I’ll be running across straight after my talk at the Town Hall. Prints, books and perhaps something new…

CRANIAL ERRATUM:
I am wallowing in shame that I missed the Program Launch last Thursday. I managed to convince myself in a moment of tired lunacy that, despite all organisation and notification to the contrary, there was no way anything would be on then because the Festival wasn’t taking place until late May. I trust it was a great evening, much beer was had by all and that someone put on a silly high voice and pink wig to act my part. I shall make it up to everyone by being extra clever in future, for the benefit of all mankind.
