I’m sometimes accused of being unreasonably cheerful here. Well, it’s not so nuts when you’re doing something you love which is what we all strive for, yes?
Well, here’s the yin to my perky yang. Cue the tiny violins… I’m DYING.
My head’s full of aching cotton wool, my nib keeps destroying the paper, inspiration has fled and I have a deadline tomorrow! And I just have to stick at it because my deadline is their deadline and their deadline is someone else’s deadline and we’re all stuck between these ghastly multiplying mirrors of madness until I’ve done at least six pictures. What a dear diary this is! I apologise.
This here is the flipside to a job based on creativity. It just doesn’t always materialise when called on.
The thing is, it’s material I’ve been dying to draw for ages. Years even. It’s the kind of thing I drew on my walls at home (sorry mum) and pretty much every note book, ever… So I’m thinking LOTR soundtrack for inspiration, old movie footage on the screen for people reference, and pulling out photos of travels in Ireland and Cornwall to get me into a green and magical head space.

Feel better soon!
Oh mon dieu What a whinge! I got most of the work done and will finish up tomorrow. I just did a most sinister illustration of a shady dell. That was fun
Nothing like a sinister dell to perk up the spirits!
